Roy Perry 1935 - 1993
Roy Perry is known for his paintings of the Thames and of cricket matches. His work has been shown in many prestigious Galleries and Shows including the RA, RI, RBA and RSMA. He was awarded membership of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour in 1978. His work appears in many important private collections including that of HRH Prince of Wales and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.
This painting shows the Thames at Wapping with the Ancient 'Prospect of Whitby' Inn taking centre stage. The large building is the famous Metrolpolitan Wharf. To the far right of the scene, on the bend of the river is Canary Wharf.
